Ken Sanders

Chief Development Officer

Whether it’s 30 people sitting in a small meeting room or millions around the world watching the halftime show of one of America’s great spectacles, Ken’s objective as head of Encore and Freeman’s M&A effort is to engage audiences and exceed client expectations.

Prior to joining Freeman, Ken served as vice president of the hotel division for Audio Visual Headquarters (AVHQ). He then went on to serve as executive vice president and chief operating officer for AVSC (now PSAV). Ken is credited with developing PSAV's successful hotel services business model, which grew to include more than 500 properties during his career there. He also served as executive vice president of Video Equipment Rentals (VER), a global leader in the audio visual equipment rental field headquartered in Southern California. While there, he oversaw their 18 domestic branches, expanded their business internationally, and lead VER’s global sales strategy.

Due to his extensive experience in the audio visual industry, Ken is well-respected and active within several professional organizations. For more than 35 years, he has been active in volunteer leadership in the industry. Ken was active within InfoComm International for more than 15 years, served 11 years as a trustee and chairman of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Foundation's global Board of Trustees executive committee. While serving, Ken helped lead a multimillion-dollar fundraising campaign for the foundation that supported education and research projects to benefit the events industry. He currently serves on the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation board. Over the years, Ken has been a member of MPI’s International Board of Directors as well as the U.S. Travel Board and Meetings Mean Business Coalition.

I’ve been in this business long enough to understand where we’ve been and where we’re going. I challenge our team to confidently think differently and exceed our customers’ expectations. I want people to think of Freeman and Encore as the coolest companies out there.

At Freeman, Ken’s work helped grow Freeman’s audio visual business on international levels, with expanded presence in both Mexico and Puerto Rico. Ken is also credited with the vision to add Staging Connections to Freeman’s portfolio, which served to establish a firm foothold from which to grow the company’s presence in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. As a result of his expertise in adding strategic acquisitions, Ken leads merger and acquisitions for the Freeman company.

Ken’s vast industry knowledge coupled with his business acumen has helped Freeman experience unprecedented growth. The relationships he has forged within the company and around the globe allows him to bring business and people together to ensure long term success for years to come.
