FREEMAN® CONTINUES INVESTMENT IN SUSTAINABILITY IN EVENTS WITH NEW ACCREDITATIONS

Freeman achieves Zero to Landfill certification and CHAS Premium standards accreditation in EMEA, as well as the APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meetings Standards in the US.

Freeman® — the world’s leading brand experience company — has cemented its unswerving commitment to be a frontrunner in sustainability in the events and exhibit space with new accreditations and certifications.

In the UK, Freeman was awarded the Zero to Landfill certification by Forward Waste Management, the leaders in managing waste specifically within the manufacturing sector. Freeman also achieved the CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) elevated health and safety standards, including quality management, equal opportunities and diversity, and financial and business standing.

In the United States, Freeman has also recently earned the global Events Industry Council (EIC) Level 2 APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meetings Standards Certification pertaining to the Evaluation and Selection of Exhibits for Environmentally Sustainable Meetings, Events, Trade Shows, and Conferences (E2742) for Supplier (General Service Contractor/Venue).

Chris Preston, Managing Director, Freeman EMEA: “Sustainability is the single-most pressing issue in our industry. It isn’t just what our customers are increasingly asking for, it is our responsibility to our people, the communities in which we work and live, and our planet as a whole. I am proud that Freeman EMEA has proven to not only meet but exceed the event industry standards in Europe by gaining these accreditations. We now want to challenge ourselves to drive innovation in this space together with our stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.”

“Freeman is deeply committed to sustainability for the organisation, our clients’ events, and the industry,” said Freeman SVP of Sustainability Melinda Kendall. “Sustainability is all about finding creative ways to reduce waste, and these types of certifications give our customers confirmation that we have proven our ability to provide our customers sustainable event execution beyond what they may have considered or even thought possible.”

“Sustainability is increasingly a component of the end-user brand experience,” continued Kendall. “The key to any environmental effort is taking a holistic approach and engaging all stakeholders and suppliers from the beginning to design sustainability into the event.”

"The Events Industry Council congratulates Freeman on this major achievement,” said Amy Calvert, CEO, Events Industry Council. “We also celebrate Freeman's well-established commitment to sustainable practices through materials innovation, waste management and community partnerships."
