DALLAS – July 24, 2012 – Freeman, the premier provider of integrated solutions for live events, announced today that it is developing a separate business unit that will align the capabilities, skills and talents of Immersa Marketing, Digital Products, Freeman Creative (formerly ProActive), and EventMark. Freeman has hired industry veteran Chris Cavanaugh to lead the group, which will be focused on providing creative and strategic marketing counsel.
Freeman is dedicated to aligning its organization in a way that not only makes sense for business but also provides the best value for customers; this change responds to customer demand for more strategic and consultative partnerships.
“Our business model continues to develop to meet changes in the market and the evolving priorities of our customers,” said Joe Popolo, Freeman CEO. “We are excited to have in Chris Cavanaugh an experienced and dedicated leader who is committed to working with his new team to develop a best-in-class experience for customers.”
Cavanaugh comes to Freeman with more than 20 years of experience creating strategic marketing programs for some of the world’s biggest brands across industries and geographies; his years of work in integrated communications have established him as an expert in developing breakthrough programs for the likes of Pfizer, Hearst, IBM, CA, Nokia and Target. Prior to joining Freeman, Cavanaugh served as President/Chief Marketing Officer for Taft, an award-winning marketing agency specializing in advertising, digital and social media, public relations, and corporate communications. Cavanaugh also held a number of key executive leadership positions during a 16-year tenure at Jack Morton Worldwide where he served on the company’s Executive Team, directed its flagship New York office and worked in collaboration with agencies such as McCann World Group, DraftFCB and Weber Shandwick as Chief Client Officer for Morton, which is a member of the Interpublic Group of Companies. “
I am excited to join a company with such a long and distinguished history of innovation and quality,” said Cavanaugh. “I am looking forward to collaborating with and learning from the incredible talent within these groups. This new business unit will provide a laser-focus on building industry-leading marketing solutions that will open doors for our clients and our company.”
Cavanaugh will begin his role as president of the new marketing solutions group on August 20.
