What’s your exhibit booth personality?
By now you’ve read through the series, gathered some useful tips, and maybe even applied some of the insights. Since you’re well on your way to exhibit success, we created this fun quiz to close the loop.
Answer each question (just 4!) to discover your brand’s booth personality and how that could manifest on the show floor. Don’t think too hard, just choose the option that feels the most true.
1. What do you want attendees to feel the second they see your booth?
A. That company looks dependable, well-built, in control.
B. There’s a feeling about it that’s more meaningful than just marketing.
C. That brand feels warm and welcoming. I’m definitely walking in.
D. This company is bold and edgy. I’ll probably tell others to check it out.
2. How do you want people to move through your space?
A. Guided, clearly, no guesswork.
B. Wandering, at their own pace, taking the brand in.
C. Mingling, lounging, staying a while.
D. Drawn toward one big, unmissable moment.
3. What keeps someone at your booth?
A. A team that’s clearly got everything handled.
B. A sense of discovery or bigger purpose.
C. Easy conversation, a place to belong.
D. A demo or moment that shows its expertise.
4. What’s the AV moment people remember?
A. Something precise and flawlessly executed.
B. Something that hits an emotional nerve.
C. Something shared — a laugh, a photo, a moment together.
D. Something bold that shows what the exhibit brand is capable of.
Tally your A, B, C, Ds. Whichever letter you picked most is your primary booth personality. Keep in mind that you may get a mixed result, which is very common. Most brands and organizations are a blend, and that’s the point.
Mostly A’s — Provide Structure
You want your booth to feel dependable and in control. Every detail is considered; the team left nothing to chance.
In action: Clean sightlines, clear signage hierarchy, and a layout that never makes visitors guess where to go next.
Mostly B’s — Provide purpose
You want your booth to mean something — a sense of discovery or purpose that goes beyond offerings and actually sticks with attendees.
In action: Lock in one key message, then make sure it shows up consistently — in your headline, your graphics, and what your staff says when someone walks up.
Mostly C’s — Connect to Others
You want your booth to feel human — welcoming, casual, a place people want to linger.
In action: Soft lighting and greenery instead of hard edges and stark surfaces, furniture arranged for conversation rather than transaction.
Mostly D’s — Make an impression
You want your booth to prove something about your offerings or your message. The space feels bold, capable, impossible to overlook.
In action: Use large-scale graphics and bold, confident visuals to do the heavy lifting. If there’s room in your budget, take it up a notch with an LED wall or large-scale digital display.
Your best booth forward
Here’s the deal: the only hurdle standing in the way of your best booth is making the right decisions when creating your space: the visuals, layout and design, experiential moments, and AV.
Combining these in alignment with your objectives is what brings your brand personality to life on the floor. And it’s what makes attendees want to stop and learn more.
