DALLAS — November 6, 2018 — Committed to helping its global customers deliver more meaningful connections and grow their business, Freeman, today announced it has hired Leigh Chang as its new managing director of FreemanXP Asia Pacific. In this role, he will provide strategic insights to help further grow Freeman’s capabilities and business in the region. Chang brings more than 25 years of experience to Freeman, including more than 17 years focused on the China market.
Chang’s multidimensional expertise from having worked across Asian, Chinese, and Western environments on both the agency and client side of business enables him to provide critical insights. He also provides an entrepreneurial perspective from having created his own communications agency, which he grew from a start-up to a company generating millions of dollars in revenue.

Prior to joining Freeman, Chang helped launch an experiential marketing agency for global communications marketing firm Edelman. His more than 25-year career also includes senior management roles at a global digital agency and serving as the public relations director for luxury car brand Jaguar Land Rover China. There, he was a key member of a new leadership team that drove rapid business expansion and sales growth during a period of structural change. Chang most recently served as the head of Asia Pacific at Global Infusion Group (GIG), a global catering, logistics and brand support company.

Born in China, Chang migrated to Australia when he was young and went on to achieve a bachelor’s degree in accounting while there from Queensland University of Technology. In his new role, he will be based in Shanghai, but will also spend time in FreemanXP locations throughout Asia Pacific. Chang takes over for Adam Charles, who has assumed a new role in Freeman’s Dallas headquarters and will continue to be actively involved in the company’s international business — especially in China and the Asia-Pacific region.
